Please note that the Meet-&-Greet session has been changed to 7pm. Door opens @ 6pm. No DSLR cameras allowed. For more updates, please refer to K Pop Asia’s FB.
Finally, the complete information is out for one of the concert. I hate writing with incomplete information, so will have to wait awhile till infor is out for Rain’s concert (22 May) and the Korean Music Wave concert (15 July).
K Pop Asia- K Pop Heal the World concert will be held on the 4th June at the Max Pavillion. On 28th April, K Pop Asia, the organiser for K Pop Heal the World Concert, 4 (or 5 depending on how you look at it) Korean bands – T-Ara, T-Max, MBLAQ, After School and Orange Caramel (a sub-group of After School), together woth local artistes Dhani and O School will be performing.
There are 3 categories- Cat 1- S$230 (1,700 tix), Cat 2- S$180 (1,200 tix), Cat 3- S$120 (1,600 tix).
To kickstart the whole thing, the organizer is planning to hold a ticket sale party next Tuesday, 19th April at SCAPE @ 5pm next week. Seems like chaotic nightmare all over again? Maybe not. Still I hope the organizer is well prepared. Queuing starts at 4pm and actual buying starts at 5pm. The organizer promises to give those who show up entertainment (MVs and music- Korean of course) and goodies in the form of Nintendo games and Meet-and-Greet tix. There is also a roving interviewer (not sure from which media) going around, though I’m not sure how that is considered as beneficial to the concert ticket buyers. Hmmm… And for those who do not intend to join in the madness, you can buy the tickets via their own website on the 20th April.
For more information, please refer to either their website or their FB.
Now what I’m really keen to find out is this part, which is posted on their FB:
What is K-Pop Heal the World about?
‘K-Pop Heal the World’ intends to raise awareness on philanthropy with the youth, who should be informed of donation efforts of disasters in not only the recent Japan earthquake, but for all the tragic disasters that have occurred throughout last year including the Pakistan floods, Australian floods, Indonesia tsunami and Mt Merapi eruptions.
There isn’t any other information about how this part is going to be done except for the fact that Mercy Relief donation boxes for the Japan disaster will be placed at the ticket sales launch party next week. It would be great if the above can really be incorporated into the K Pop event as the people attending the concert would be mostly youths. Anyone knows anything about this or if there is anyone from the organizer who is reading this, who would care to enlighten me? (I can be contacted at tiffany@seoulrhythms.com ^^)
Now just a little about the 4 bands
T-Max exploded became well-known almost overnight because of the drama, ‘Boys Over Flowers’. They sang the theme song and Kim Joon, one of the member starred as one of the 4 ‘flower boys’. They also came for the inaugural Sundown Festival in 2009 (which was one explosive event). Since then, T-Max has undergone a couple of changes. One of the original member, Yunhwa is currently in the army and they have 2 new members- Park Hanbi and Joo Chanyang. Their first full album, Born to the Max was released last year.
Here’s an mv from their latest album, starring Oh Ji Ho and Yoon So Yi.
Kim Joon was extremely blond in the mv (which I rather like actually). He is currently starring in the KBS drama, Crime Unit (starring Song Il Kook and Song Ji Hyo).

Sundown Festival 2009 Fan meet
It is not uncommon now for the groups to form sub-groups…for a lot of reasons. Widening the fan base would be one. Orange Caramel consists of the 3 youngest members of the girl group, After School, namely, Nana, Raina and Lizzy. Their image within Orange Caramel is a little different from that of After School. In Orange Caramel, the 3 girls portray a sweet and innocent image…though with the recent single release, that image has changed somewhat. Check out their mv, ‘Bangkok City’ below and see what you think.

Goodness.. Bo Peep Bo Peep landing on our shores. That song is stuck in my head but not that I like it.
2 Thumbs up for Mblaq and 1 thumb for T-Max.
If the event is for a good course, this subject matter should be the main focus.
After School and their sub-unit Orange Caramel will be performing too!
