Viu Singapore and Samsung Galaxy held a Launch Party at Flower Dome, Gardens By The Bay with Hallyu artists Park Min Young and Kim Jong Kook last month. The latest Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was unveiled at the start of the party, with Hallyu artistes, ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim’ lead actress Park Min Young and ‘Running Man’ Sparta Kim Jong Kook in attendance for an exclusive meet-and-greet with Singapore fans!

The audience at the party went wild with excitement when Kim Jong Kook appeared on stage. Greeting the audience in English, he sat down for the Q&A segment. Kim Jong Kook is really quite proficient in English and hardly need the translator for most of the questions. Did you know that the one thing he must take on his travel is his handphone? Perhaps it is apt that Samsung invited him to promote the new Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

During the game segment, four lucky fans were selected to go on stage to play a guessing game with Sparta. He doodled pictures on the new Note 9 with the S pen for them to guess. His drawings were so quick and precise that the fans were able to guess them correctly and quickly! Apparently, Kim Jong Kook loves to draw on his phone.

When the petite and sweet actress Park Min Young came on stage, screams could be heard from many male fans. This actress is as pretty in person as she is on screen. And she sits upright just like her character in the drama. Standing and walking straight and learning all the ‘secretary terminology’ were matters not as easy as they look.

In the game section, two male fans were selected to re-enact a scene in episode 10 from the highly popular drama ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?’. The scene was about the cheeky Kim Mi Soo who gave Lee Young Joon a heart sign from her bag, but turned and went up to her house right before Lee Young Joon was about to give her the moon he ‘plucked’ the night sky. The two fans were so shy and embarrassed! Park Min Young specially prepared the official plush toy ‘hardworking cow’ from the drama for both fans, to the envy of the rest of the fans. Park Min Young also took welfie with the fans with the new Note 9 as well.

With the new Note 9, Kim Jong Kook was able to take a wefie with it’s new function- using the Blue-toothed S pen as a remote control to take pictures. That is definitely a new function that many of us photo ‘trigger-happy’ fans will love.
