Wanna One was formed via the reality talent show, Produce 101 Season 2. Out of 101 trainees from various agencies, the final 11 are chosen audience voting. Some of these boys are not new to the entertainment industry. For example, Park Ji Hoon,a bias of my friend, is a child actor and has acted in dramas like ‘King and I’ and various variety shows. Hwang Min Hyun is from the group, Nu’est.
Last year’s Season 1 produced the all girls group- I.O.I., which was extremely popular. The unique aspect of these 2 groups is the fact that it is only temporary, and they will return to their respective agencies at the end of the promotion period. So for Wanna One, this temporary contract will last till 31 December 2018. In the meantime, they will not be allowed to promote under their original agency.
The oldest in the group is 26 years old and the youngest is 16 years old.
