Hehe! I just received the second volume last week…And I was so happy to note that I could actually read most of the words in the books.
There are 5 volumes (according to the publisher) and only 2 volumes are out now. I like the fact the books use pictures from the drama and I could relive the memories and practice my Korean at the same time. ^^
The books are available in Kinokuniya now.
hehehehe! Shin rameon….
So do you read the comic books in Korean? wow..you’re so good in Korean.
Hi Tiffany,
I’ve just finished watching this drama, the little actress is sooooo sweet, her portrayal of “air head” is perfect. She stole my heart. What do you think of the second sequel? it’s showing here on TV right now, I missed some episodes already, now showing episode12. So I need to get the DVD set, if I want to see. Is it good? the actors and actresses are not as cute as the first one though.
yee,
tiff is going to say i’m bias…..hehehe…
but it depends what you are looking for in a drama..
cute actors/actresses? i think Princess Hours, only Yoon Eun Hye is cute…the actors are definitely not cute…hahaha…KJH is more of a flowery boy to me..(yes..boy….watching Witch Yoo Hee, he is really way way looking too young as a doctor..and makes him looks so much younger than the other casts)…nothing against him..(fyi, i just won a KJH table standee from a radio station contest recently…hahaha…). As for JJH, sorry, his character really makes him look raw and stoned in Princess Hours, but of course, in the end, i was rooting for Shin rather than Yul…hehehe..
For Prince Hours(or know as Goong S), Se7en is definitely cute..though his character becomes more serious from the middle part of the drama……The drama focus more on the political issues & competition to choose who will be the crown prince more than the love lives of the 4 casts..
In terms of costumes, i think Goong S is better..at least Lee Hoo(Se7en) either wear suits/school uniform/casual….not as flowery as Shin in Princess Hours…….I think his casual wear at a later part of the drama really makes him stand out as a star….so trendy and looks so good on Se7en…But of course, the female lead costumes were highly criticised by overseas fans for making her looks so messy…..maybe because Se7en is the main lead, they put in more effort on him…hehehe….
As for acting wise, i think Se7en did a pretty good job despite acting for the 1st time(not taking into accounts of his songs MV). Heo Yi Jae, the female lead, is under the management of BOF….this is her 1st major role.. but i guess she was pull down by her character in the drama..(as she always look so depressed after seeing Lee Hoo not knowing that she like him)….
Park Shin Hye is really doing a good job despite that she is only 17 years old(think so)…give her another 3 more years and i believe she will shine ever better than any of the actresses now…
Kang Do(oh…..Tiff favourite in the drama though she gave up watching it)….though he is not as handsome looking as Se7en, his character in the drama did not makes Se7en’s supporters hate him…most are them really pity him and wished they had given him a gal in the end(though the drama did not do so)..
Lastly, despite the low tv rating in korea(but high rating viewing online), the 4 casts never give up and did their best(Heo Yi Jae did break down and blamed herself for the low rating at 1 point thou). I think the whole production team plus the cast continuing effort is more commendable than anything else….
I’m hoping for Goong S DVD though…and hopefully some books on it too….
Call me bias, but i would rather get Goong S stuff more than Princess Hours…hehehe…
Err… I can read some parts of the book because they’re in veyr simple basic Korean… hehehe!
And no, definitely not very good in Korean…as yet…
Yee..
Goong S or Prince Hours or Prince Who? is not a sequel to Goong or Princss Hours. It started off as one but there were problems within the staff working on this project. Also, none of the original cats wanted to work on the sequel..at least not s soon after the original series (except for Kim Jung Hoon).
So Goong S or Prince Hours is a completely different story.
Errr…. Lynn has already answered on my behalf… I gave up on Goong S halfway…from about the 8th or 9th episodes onwards, though I did go onto soompi thread regularly to see what was happening.
Hard to pinpoint why I didn’t like it…But I think storyline would be a big factor. It just wasn’t strong enough.
However, the fact that Princess Hours was so popular didn’t make it easy for the Prince Hours staff. The expectation was too high and there were too much comparison. Of course, there was also less novelty…
But then again, there are plenty of people who like it enough..like Lynn and Dawn… hahaha!
So watch it for yourself and make the judgement yourself. ^^
Wooahh.. that was a long post defending Goong S, Lynn. haha!
I know lah, you like it alot.
Yes, except for Park Shin Hye, the others were ‘new’. Heo Yi Jae also acted in the movie ‘Sunflower’ together with Kim Rae Won, but I guess a drama is longer and more grueling than a movie.Plus, she wasn’t the main lead in the drama.
I think for ‘new’ actors, they did ok. There are of course, some who are natural. And although Rain is not one of my side dish, I must say that he is a natural at acting, judging from his first drama, ‘Sangdo, Let’s go to School’.
And yes, haha! I Like Kang Do, but I wish they would give his character more depth. May go and hunt out ‘Hello Franceska’ to see how he was in the drama. ^^
Thank you Lynn and Tiff.
Usually I preffer to watch a movie/drama with good story line, of course good looking (to my taste) actores and actresses count too. That’s why Dae Jung Geum and Jumong are my 2nd. and 3rd. favorites after Winter Sonata. But I haven’t watch that many dramas yet. And I like Emporer of the Sea very much too.
So this Princess Hours was so silly for me, so I stopped watching. But my friend kept on telling me to watch with a lot of salt because it’s cute. So I did continue (we paid for it already) and the little actress stole my heart. The story is not good, but these kids are so cute ( will be better if Yul actor can act better, because I like him), so just for entertainment, I enjoyed it. It’s fun to watch.
I will try the Prince Hour.
Thank you very much for the info.
