The Korean Film Festival is back as part of the Korean Festival 2010. From 21st October to 24th October, you will be able to catch 5 movies at Golden Village, Vivo City.
The theme is Men in Action and there is a indeed a variety of men in action in these 5 movies. From the roving hands (‘The Housemaid’) to the supernatural (‘Jeon Woo Chi’) to the traditional gangster action (‘Righteous ties’).
And on the 22nd October, Jeoung Jun Ho (‘Iris’, ‘Last Scandal of My Life’) will be the guest of honour the Gala Premiere of ‘Righteous Ties’. (I would have preferred Kang Dong Won…but then, that’s me. ^^)
Tickets sales have started on 7th October on GV’s site. Here’s a schedule for your reference.
For more information, refer to Korean Embassy’s FB or Korean Film Festival- Men Of Action event page.
The Housemaid
Cast: Lee Jung Jae, Jeong Do Yeon, Seo Woo, Yoon Yeo Jeong
Review
The Housemaid trailer
I’ve always been impressed by Jeon Do Yuen’s ability to morph into any character and Lee Jung Jae…what can I say? He’s manly hot. The Housemaid was in competition for the Cannes Festival this year.
Jeon Woo Chi
Cast: Kang Do Won, Im So Jong, Kim Yun Seok
Review
Jeon Woo Chi Trailer
I like Kang Do Won. He is truely a versatile actor and Im So Jong is another excellent actress. From what I see from the trailer, it’s going to be one fun ride. ^^
Antique
Cast: Joo Ji Hoon, Kim Jae Wook, Yoon Ah In
Review
Antique Trailer
Joo Ji Hoon is currently in the army and for some strange reason, both the movies he did had food as the main theme. Personally, I’d watch it for Kim Jae Wook, the waffle man in ‘Coffee Pince Shop No 1’. ^^ And Yoon Ah In seems to be enjoying rise in popularity due to the current drama, ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’. Adapted from a Japanese manga, there is some gay overtones in the movie.
Righteous Ties
Cast: Jeong Jae Yeong, Jung Jun Ho, Ryu Seung Ryeong
Review
Righteous Ties Trailer
I kept remembering Jung Jun Ho was pretty impressive in ‘Iris’ though I kept thinking of him in ‘The Last Scandal of my Life’ with the deceased Choi Jin Shil.
‘Take Off
Cast: Ha Jeong Woo, Song Dong Il, Kim Dong Wook
Review
Take Off Trailer
The only name I recognized is Kim Dong Wook, also from Coffee Prince Shop No 1. But I do recognize the other characters, as they are what I call veterans. Apparently, it did rather well in the box office in Korea. ^^
i wish Ha Jeong Woo would be the one coming… 🙂
Ha Jeong Woo? Which of the 5 movies was he in?
