K Pop events are back

With the easing of COVID-19 measures, Singapore is seeing an explosion of events from concerts to sporting events to conferences.

Viu started it off with the launch for Lee Joon Gi’s new drama. ‘Again My Life’ for media and fans. The invited guests get to watch the first episode together, played games, collected door gifts. But most important of all, we get to interact and attend a live event again in person.

Some of the big names from Mandopop have already announced their upcoming concerts happening in the second half of the year like A-Lin, 831, Power Station, Jay Chou and Mayday (although strictly speaking, Mayday’s concerts was announced 2 years ago). From the English pop scene, we have Justin Bieber (tickets sold out within hours I heard).

In the K Pop world, the following 3 events have been confirmed.

Hwang In Yuop 1st Asia Fan Meeting Tour

Hwang In Yeop has been gaining popularity since the drama ‘True Beauty’ and also recently starred in the Netflix series ‘The Sound of Magic’. His new drama ‘Why Her’ with Seo Hyun Jin drops on 3 June. The Keyeast artiste will be holding his first ever fan meeting in Singapore on 30 July at the Capitol Theatre. (G)I-DLE 2022 World Tour

The girl group (G)I-DLE is going on a world tour this year and is making a stop in Singapore on 1st October 2022. I’ve always been confused how to pronounce the name. The G is silent apparently. EPIK HIGH Asia Pacific Tour 2022

EPIK HIGH

This will be Epik High’s second solo concert in Singapore although I first saw them in YG 2014 Galaxy Tour. They performed together with other YG artistes including 2NE1, Big Bang, Winners and Psy (who was big then because of Gangnam Style). Expect lots of high energy, vibe in the concert. Their last one was standing only.
