SilkAir, the regional arm of Singapore Airlines announced yesterday that it will start a direct flight to Busan, South Korea starting 1st May 2019.
There will be four flights weekly. Flights from Singapore will leave for Busan at night, arriving at the destination in the morning. The return flight from Busan leaves early in the morning, arriving in Singapore in the afternoon. So you have a full day in Busan on arrival, but not so great when departing. Still, as the first airline to launch a direct flight to Busan, it will be much more convenient than having to change flight.

It is also home to Busan International Film Festival, one of the most important event in the film circuit, especially for Asia Films.

Of course, most now people now associate the place with the popular horror movie, ‘부산행 (Train to Busan)’ starring Gong Yoo.
The other well known movie is the disaster film ‘해운대 (Haeundae)’ starring Ha Ji Won. Drawing on inspiration from the 2004 tsunami, the movie is about a tsunami that swept through the famous Haeundae Beach in Busan.
It would seemed both the popular movies associated with Busan is action-based. ^^
My very first trip to Korea in 2003 included a trip to Busan for the 8th Busan Film Festival in 2003 to watch ‘Untold Scandal’. Unfortunately my memories of the place is now very hazy. I guess this will now make it easier to revisit the place.
