The $50 magic puff from Innisfree

I went to Innifree the other day to buy a air magic puff for my Long Wear Cushion powder. It costs $3.

I ended up paying $50.

I had already picked up the magic puff but decided to check out some of the products. I decided that I needed the No-Sebum Blur Primer, because I realized that I cannot walk out of the house with just BB cream anymore and still look presentable. My face needed a little more smoothening. The cruelty of age.

Then I walked by the eye shadow section and agreed with myself that it’s about time to replace many years old eye shadows. I don’t normally paint my eyes, but occasionally, it is nice to have that little bit of colour. So the Eye Contour Stick went into my basket as it looked really easy to use.

Happy with my purchases, I walked to the counter.

‘Ma’am’, the young staff said cheerfully, ‘Would you like to top up your purchases? You can have this Jeju Lava Seawater Special Kit free if your purchases if you just buy another $10 worth of products’.

So, even though I don’t really need anything anymore, it took only one second of convincing (myself) that I would be loosing out if I didn’t get that free gift. That’s how I ended up buying the Single Eye Shadow, which really complimented the Eye Contouring Stick.

As I walked towards the cashier counter for the second time, I passed by the lips section and fell in love with the lipsticks. I bought the Eco Camelia Tint because I wanted a lip gloss that would also give my lips some colour and the very helpful young staff reassured me that it lasts a long time. Long after all the coffee and snacks are gone.

And that’s how my $3 purchase became $50.

My gifts from Innisfree for spending more that I should have:

A few days later, I received an email from Innisfree that I have just become a Premium member because I have spent $120 within 12 months. I don’t even remember what I bought. And on top of that I realized that I still have this:

Now what should I get with that $5 voucher? By the way, that Jeju Lava Seawater Special Kit is selling for $11.80 on Qoo10.

In the meantime, spokesperson Lee Min Ho will be enlisting soon, so enjoy his adverts with Innisfree while you can.
