Day 6 – Last Day (26th Apr, Mon)
Did I tell you that I gained weight from this trip? Sigh… between donuts and ice-cream almost everyday- it’s no wonder.
This being the last day of our trip, we were all determind to do some last minute serious shopping at Myeong Dong. But first- breakfast at Dunkin’ Donuts with my partner-in-crime—happiebb. Hmm…. it was delicious.
Unfortunately most of the shops do not open till about 10.30am or even 11am.
But I was also on a mission for other chingus back home. What mission? Looking out for other K hunks. hehehe!
Whilst wondering around Myeong Dong, snapping up photos of the above hunks, we saw this:
We’re not sure what it is, but the photos of ‘Stairway to Heaven’ and ‘Winter Sonata’ drew our interest. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the time to check it out. So anyone who is going to Seoul in the near future, please do find out for us.
In case you are not aware, Dodo shop, The Face Shop and Missha have already opened outlets in Singapore. BUT, the things are much cheaper in Seoul. So it would be a good idea to stock up when you are there. It was a mad rush to these shops to finish my shopping list.
My trip to Korea is never complete without hauling back a big stack of CDs and this time would be no exception. As with previous trips, we all went to our favourite cd shop, which is at the basement of the Myeong Dong subway shopping link. It’s a little shop and it’s near the Milgore subway entrance. It’s run by this one guy only but he speaks English, is charming and will try his best to get the cds that you want. He isn’t pushy and will recommend cds if you ask him. Best of all, he gives discount for our bulk purchases. At 11,000 won (after discount), his price was much better than all the shops that we visited. Just mention Joon’s Family, or BYJ fans from Singapore. A note of advice though: visit his shop on the first day of your trip. If he doesn’t have the CDs that you want, you can ask him to place an order and you can go collect it on your last day.

Sigh… I wonder when will the Korean music scene in Singapore improve?
Our flight was at 4.30pm, which means we had to take the 1.30pm bus to the hotel. By 12.30pm. most of us were ready and had checked out of the motel. Poor Mr Park- he had to lug my very, very heavy luggage down from the 4th floor. As he huffed and puffed his way down, he ask me: ” What do you have in here? BYJ?” If only it was so…
Whew! Luckily, none of us were charged for excess baggage. Just as I thought, I couldn’t possibly be buying any more things right, what happened? We found a magazine full of his ‘April Snow’ photos. Sigh…. Is there no escaping this man even at the airport?
According to happiebb, there is a Korean entertainment hall at the airport, but again, I found myself running out of time. Wonder why there never seems to be enough time when you are in Korea? Nor enough money either?
And so I’ve come to the end of my April Snow trip. I leave Korea, again full of memories for the shops, the food, the scenery, the people, the fans and him.
The movie will premiere in September, which is only about 4 months away. I don’t know whether I will be in Korea at that time.
But it matters not where I am physically for my love and support for him will be with him now, then and always. I’m sure he will feel it too.
Fighting BYJ!
