Lunafly 4, Showcase, 210513

It was a hot humid afternoon, but fans of Lunafly started queuing for entry into the showcase as early as 6am, all this just to grab the best spot to watch the trio perform at 4pm. It was completely packed with fans from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Japan, Korea and even as far as England by 4pm.

The special present from Lunafly for the Singapore fans, as mentioned during the press conference, was a cover of Singapore’s own popular singer JJ Lin’s ‘Endless Road’, performed for the 1st time ever. Check out this awesome rendition.

The boys were really having fun and knew how to draw the crowd with their banter and jokes. They even said ‘Thank You’, ‘ I Love You’, ‘I’m pretty’ in Mandarin and Malay. Teo is really good with languages and he made the effort to speak in English, albeit with a strong Korean accent, joking that he can’t speak Korean. Sam joked that Teo speaks Tinglish (Teo’s English) and even threw in a Singlish ‘lah’ at times. It is obvious Teo is the funny guy of the trio, and 4D at times. He would suddenly blurt out “I miss my mother’ and ‘I miss my father’ during the chat, and teased Sam all the time, even laughing about Sam’s mushroom hair, and made fun of himself having girl’s hair. He called Sam a broccoli (who was wearing green) and himself a carrot (he was dressed in orange). Do they look like one?

Sam got confused at times too because being fluent in English, he had to translate between English and Korean for the other two, and there was an instance when he spoke to Yun in English, leaving Yun unaware of what is expected from him. Teo was also very sporting when fans request them to do the Gwiyomi player, though he did push the task to Sam and the host. Yun was very reluctant initially but eventually gave in after all the egging from Teo and the fans.

Teo thought he could get away with it but could not escape. He insisted on doing his own hilarious version. Sam told Teo that this would be the last time ever that they do the Gwiyomi and stressed that they are serious artistes, and from then onwards Teo kept repeating “We are serious artistes” throughout the rest of the showcase. He is no doubt the mood maker and troublemaker of the group.

All in all, the showcase was a really impressive showing of their live singing prowess and amazing voices. I’m sure the fans enjoyed it as much as I do, if not more. It was definitely an enjoyable Sunday afternoon, stretching to the evening where the happy fans that had purchased the VIP tickets get to take photographs with them right after the showcase. Here are clips of some of the songs they sang.
