Ready for a “food” news? ^_^ A new sushi restaurant ‘Bay Sushi’ recently opened in Marina Bay Sands (MBS). You must be wondering this is related tokKorea culture. Well, ‘Bay Sushi’ is the brainchild and the second brand development of The Bay F&D, after its successful venture with TODAI. Yup they belong to the same management.
‘Bay Sushi’ introduces a novel experience of dining with its unique selection of cosmopolitan rolls and sushi served in a modern luxury setting. The rolls and sushi at Bay Sushi are all original creations of its chef who takes inspiration from a range of familiar elements- from popular culture to landmarks.
The restaurant entrance looks grand and suited well with the overall luxury concept. Now let’s go check out what’s inside.
It has a capacity of about 65 pax with 3 private rooms which can be combined into one upon request.
Over at conveyor belt, both hot and cold dishes are presented on coloured plates inspired by the famous bays in the world. Some food like salmon are prepared on the spot upon order. This is to ensure freshness of the food.
Look at the menu!! So many to choose from, mmmm what should I have? Ok, let’s start with the appetizer.
Here’s what I had…
Cream Cheese salmon roll which is highly recommended by Chef.
Slices of cucumber and tomato were wrapped together with salmon and radish and topped with cream cheese.
A crunchy and inventive appetizer.
Tofu is a must-try dish for me at any Japanese restaurants.
Presenting the “Agedashi Tofu”. One bite and I could feel the crispness of the tofu melting away in my mouth. I can finish the 3 pieces of tofu all by myself. ^^
Have you heard of “Angry Bird” the mobile phone game?
The sushi roll above is inspired by the game and is named “Angry Salmon LV 17”. The name sure sound fun!
Look at how the sauce flowed down the sushi, soooo “juicy” right? I popped it into my mouth immediately. Mmmmmm there is bit of spiciness but it sure is delicious.
Since this is a year of dragon, I decided to have this dragon related sushi. Maybe it will bring me some luck! This sushi roll is called “Gold Dragon Roll”, with eel as the main ingredient and fried potato slices on top. Does it look like a dragon to you?
For those who are on “No rice” diet (like me), this is good as you can limit your carbohydrate intake and still enjoy the fresh suhsi. I’m so happy I found this “Hawaiian Roll” which consists of shrimp, avocado, salmon and radish.
Here’s another “no rice” roll. Looks interesting right? It’s called “Soba Roll”. Noodle lovers, you may want to try this too! It consists of noodle, carrot, cucumber and eel.
For those who prefer to have non sushi type of food, the restaurant serves other type of food too. This is “Orange Chicken”, which is similar to the Chinese “Lemon Chicken”. I didn’t realise that the combination of orange and chicken can be so good!. The taste is much richer than lemon chicken. Err.. can I have another bowl of rice to go with this?!
They have other hot food such as “Beef Teriyaki”, “Buta Kakuni” ( Steamed Pork Belly), “Chicken Teriyaki”, etc. Sadly I co5ldn’t try all of them as I was absolutely bursting by then. But die-die I also must try the seafood and sashimi. ^^
Tada! “Fresh Oyster” with Korea barley and miso paste. Need I say more? ^^ Look at the ggigantic oyster! It was very fresh and sweet!

Lastly I tried the Tuna Sashimi. It practically “dissolved” in my mouth! I wanted to try on the dessert badly but regretfully, I did not have any more “space” in my tummy and hence I decided to call it a day.
Over at Bay Sushi, food lovers all over the world can look forward to satisfying their cravings for adventurous treats in style.
