Last month, Gu Hye Sun and Jiro Wang made a trip to Singapore to promote their Taiwanese drama, ‘Absolute Boyfriend’. It aird at almost the same time as Taiwan. In fact, the showtime for Singapore is slightly earlier by about 10 minutes it seems, so ‘Absolute Boyfriend’ is actually having is’t world premiere right here in Singapore. Now that’s quite cool.
I know Gu Hye Sun is rather small size but I didn’t expect her to be so small size. She looks good in red with her fair skin.
Jiro Wang really towered over Gu Hye Sun…and I’m sure he made quite a few ladies in the room swoon as well. ^^ Jiro Wang is from the popular idol boy band, Fahrenheit
The 2 of seems rather comfortable with each other. Of course, if you have seen your male lead almost half naked in the first episode, I think all ackwardness will be overcome. Viewers would know that as the robot, Nite, Jiro Wang arrived inside a box in the buff, falling down flat on her when she opened the box. To awaken him, she had to kiss him.
With all these intimate touches, I guess you can’t be shy around each other anymore.
Jiro did reveal that he wasn’t completly naked but was actually wearing nude ‘granny lace’ stockings which he thought it was most ‘unmanly’ (I think so too. hehe!). Not only that, he had trouble with the stockings as he had to tuck in the lacy part of the stockings, which became rather compromising as he continue tucking it in more and more.
To overcome the language barrier, all of them had to attend a class where they had to talk in gibberish and then guess what each other was trying to say based on body language. This proved rather useful and as time went on, they could pre-empt each other just by observing the body language and gestures.
One of ‘secret’ that we discovered was that Gu Hye Sun loves food. And her favourite food? Smelly tofu! (I wonder if she tried durians during her stay here).
Jiro meanwhile had to limit himself as he had to maintain a fit image and body for the show..so he could only watch. Poor guy. ^^ Despite his very fit body, he actually likes to eat and can also cook quite a few dishes himself. In fact, his ideal lover would be one that can cook well. So girls, you know what to do to capture his heart.
The press conference lasted about half an hour and I couldn’t help feeling that it would have been funnier and more lively if Gu Hye Sun spoke Mandarin as Jiro Wang was rather naughty.

There was actually a cruise trip with the 2 leads after the press conference but unfortunately I couldn’t make it. Channel U also had sme rather unusual activities with the fans to promote the drama, like making house calls whilst the show was being broadcast.
‘Absolute Boyfriend’ airs on Channel U every Sunday, 9.30pm.
