Have been really busy and out of the office all the time the last few days, so no chance to sit down and check out information properly on the various events coming. But I’m sure the fans have no problem finding out the relevant information.
Latest group to confirm their event but the first to perform is Super Junior (Do I hear screams in Singapore, JB and some say Batam as well?). They will be performing for a ‘private event’ on the 6th June…which is in less than 2 weeks’ time. Now when they say private event, I had in mind the kind of private event organized by Christina Ong of Club 21- you can only attend if you are a who’s-who. I was really puzzled and thought why on earth would Samsung and Singtel spend sooooo much money to bring the boys down to entertain the elite matured few. I should have known that it will be linked to handphone sales. So, in case you are still not in the loop…
Be amongst the first 800 people to buy the Samsung Galaxy S and you will walk away with a pair of tickets to the show. Here’s the link to that phone deal.
Best part is… the price is not even out. It will be out only on the 31st May but the last day to reserve your interest (ie, your intention to buy) is today, 26th May. So you could be the last person to reserve a set but if you are the first to pay and buy the phone, you still get the tickets. I’m wondering if people will take leave just to stay at home press the ‘buy’ button. Of course, it is the school holidays, so students may have a slight edge.
Hmm….just for fun…the most expensive tickets for the recent fan meetings and concert cost about $250. So if it’s for 2 tickets, will it cost about $500? (with a 2 years contract of course). I wonder????
Deadline to reserve the phone- 26th May 2010
After waiting so long for the information, the list of artistes is finally out for Sundown Festival. As they have already announced earlier, this event will showcase both Japanese and Korean artistes. I can’t comment about the Japanese performers as I do not know much about Japanese pop. I think their goal of finally having artistes from all over Asia to perform here is a great and novel idea. However, I do wish the organizer would be a little more forthcoming with the information. Click here for more details.
The event will be held at Universal Studios Singapore, Resorts World Sentosa on the 31st July, 8pm.
Good news? This time the venue is sheltered. So no more worries about rain.
Bad news? It’s $118, which is at least $30 more than the ticket price last year. But I guess it’s still cheap compared to what some of the fan meets and showcase have been charging. There are 2 Korean groups performing- F.Cuz and After School. I rather like After School’s latest song ‘Bang’.
Tickets on sale already at Sistic.
And as most of U-Kiss fans know, the group will be in Singapore on the 20th and 21st June for a showcase and autograph-signing session. It is now being organized by Warner Music instead of the original organizer. Not sure what the full plans are but I’m sure it will involved album sales. U-Kiss came to Singapore 2 years ago for the Korean pop concert organized by the Korean Embassy. They have definitely matured alot during the last 2 years.
And last of all..B2ST or Beast (whenever I say Beast, I think of Beauty and the Beast…Oopps! Sorry). No, their showcase is not confirmed yet. But I think very highly likely and probably in July too. Organized by Universal Music, who is also their album distributor. You can join their poll on their FB and show your support. Although they have already hit their target 3,000 before the 31st May deadline, I’m sure if more fans show their support, the faster and easier it will be to confirm their showcase in Singapore.
Click on the banner below to go to the poll.
OK..that’s all for the moment.
Sorry for being a little slow in my blogging recently. I’m still trying to get new pc and phone talking to me as well as to each other. Sigh… who says all these modern devices make our lives easier?
I was at the Dream concert in Seoul on 22 May and I watched 20 acts from the 8th row, almost centre stage. I think it is safe to say that I've already seen whoever may be heading to SG this year! All the girl groups – Tiara, Kara, WG, After School were boring as hell. I nearly fell asleep. SNSD was the exception – they were really good and I enjoyed their performance! SM Entertainment sure has the resources to make their groups work!!
Fcuz is good (but then, so are all Korean boybands who can debut) but they need better songs … their songs are pretty blah π .
Hihi!
You do realise that when you say you went to the Dream concert, you might become the target of jealous darts. ^^
I thought the song 'Bang from Γfter School'wasn;t too bad. But I must admit, I don't have much impression of them. The same goes for F.Cuz, though when I read their profile, they are definitely not 'green'. But often, luck needs to play a part if they are to become well known.
SNSD- hmm… I know lots of people like them. I got reserve my judgement first. I've found most of their songs 'too cute' and 'sweet'for my taste. 'Run Devil Run'was the best so far.
I gather you will not be competing with the rest of us to get tickets to the concerts in SG then. ^^
thanks for all the updates!!
6th june >.< i am leaving for holidays on 5th!!!! ahhh…. i want to see suju too!!! >.<
do you know where i can buy the ticket rather then buying the phone to get it ?
Hi Grace…. oh dear.. you will miss them by just one day. But then, do you want to buy a handphone just to see them?
Hihi!
No other details about buying the tickets for now. I''m not sure if there will be any tickets for sale.
SuJu is brought in by Samsung and sponsored by Singtel…so they will definitely link the tickets to handphone sales…..
Maybe they may have some contests later on? Not too sure…
I know it's frustating.
Haha – of course, if a ticket comes by, I will go but I will not be hunting desperately for a ticket.
I do like the boybands though – I love SHINee! Unfortunately, don't think they like Singapore – judging by Jong Hyun's black face during the last trip >< .
Anyway, the only thing not so enjoyable about the Dream concert was that it was raining throughout >< … bummer!!
thanks thanks for the update, i really hoping that beast/b2st will be able to come to sg. Totally love their song…wonder where they will do their showcase if they ever come to sg. Hopefully not at universal studios again juz like sundown coz im afraid the tix price will be a bit ex….
hi tiffany!!
i will buy i guess, since my phone just died on me >.<
the phone is not as ex as i thought it would be too! oh well, blame it on my luck… hope i get a chance to see suju soon!!!^^
the only comforting thing is that, u-kiss is coming after i return!!^^
Whats even more appaling and frustrating abt having to buy a phone just t get tickets to sj's showcase in sg is that. there're people who've zero interest in SJ who alr bought the phone, are selling 1 ticket to younger fans at as high as $500+. and that is almost 1 package of that damn galaxy phone -.- Seriously, singtel and samsung should know better.
someone has just told me that Singtel will email the first 800 on confirmation of the tickets. And that having the 'tickets' on the order overview does not count yet. Does this mean THOSE people out there a scamming our SG fans ? -_-
Hi Dream concert goer…
Rain or no rain… I'm still jealous.
Hi juma48
You got your wish…Beast is confirmed coming in June. See my blog for more news. But err… no matter where they perform, it will still not be cheap coz it's expensive to stage a concert/ showcase. Hopefully, it will be below $80…
HI Valerie
I know it's frustrating, but from Singtel and Samsung's point of view, they just want to sell the phones. So it doesn't matter too much them if it's the fans wh buy the phones or not…as long as the phones are sold. Of course, they can sell more phones since SuJu has a huge fan base.
As for the sale of the tickets, I'm just as confused as well. But it seems that they have indeed started selling the phone. So it would seemed that if you are amongst the 1st 800 to complete the purchase, you will get the tickets….
Hi Tiffany,
Re the Dream concert – it only stopped raining when Rain performed (pardon the pun).
A matter of curiousity, what did you think of Rain's latest album?
Hi guys. I'm selling a pair of Meet-and-Greet Sundown Festival passes worth a total of $1 200 to meet F.Cuz, After School, LM.C and SuG on Jul 30… in broad daylight! Which means before they perform for the Sudown festival concert @ Universal Studios.
The passes are good for meeting and greeting the artistes on Jul 30 itself from 11am-1pm at Marina Mandarin hotel. They do not include access to the actual Sundown Festival itself.
Hope this clarifies π You are going to meet the all of the artistes in person! Must be pretty exciting!
Do let me know if you're interested in buying the passes to meet your favourite idols in person! π

Hi Anonymous
I normally do not interfere in such private arrangements. However, I'm a little puzzled.
How is it worth $1,200?
Just before anyone starts buying these meet-and-greet tickets, please note the message from Sundown Festival:
PLEASE NOTE THAT MEET & GREET PASSES ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE. STRICTLY NON-TRANSFERABLE. ID CHECKS WILL BE IN PLACE AND IF YOU ARE NOT THE WINNER BUT HAS THE MEET & GREET PASS, NO ADMISSION ALLOWED. Meet & Greet passes are not for sale. It is a shame people are trying to profit out of it and denying real fans of winning the passes.
