About once a year (well, sometimes more once a year), I feel a strange pull.
Like the salmons who swim upstream once a year….
Like the turtles who head back to the same beach year after year to lay their eggs…
I too sense the pull of a strange force upon me…the urge to breathe the air in Korea…to taste authentic Korean food served by ajumas….to get shoved aside by tall men in dark suits in the train stations during the rush hour….to hear Korean being spoken everywhere…
Yes…I feel the urge to visit Korea.
And so once again, ….next week…I will be stepping on Korean soil…..a pilgrimage that I’ve been doing yearly since 2003.
And each time I go, I still feel excited…with a long list of places I want to see, things to try, food I want to eat and people I want to see. Of course, I never accomplish everything on the list but it’s good to dream right?
This time, I will be travelling with a group of girls from Joon’s Family…and it will be a customized trip- On the trail of Bae Yong Joon (and more).
We’ll be visiting Jejudo, Wando, Namido, Youngpyong, Sheraton Walker Hill and many of the TWSSG filming sites. Of course, we also hope to visit many of the places that are not BYJ related as well….like the cafe in Coffeeprince Shop No 1. ^^
I’ll be bringing my laptop along and hope to be able to do a highlight of my visit whilst I’m there. Hopefully, our rooms will have internet access.
Btw my Korean friends who drop by this blog…if there are any local places of interest you think we should definitely visit, let me know ok? ^^
In the meantime, as you can see…I’m updating this blog here and it may take a few days to iron out the details, so please bear with me ok…
